Kenyan singer Brown Mauzo has urged his fans to steer clear of comparing their relationships or marriages to what they see on social media.

Taking to his Instagram stories on Tuesday, December 24, 2024, the “Natamani” hitmaker shared his perspective on the dangers of online envy and unrealistic expectations.

Mauzo highlighted that many people share curated moments on social media, often making their lives appear perfect. He noted that this can lead others to feel inadequate or dissatisfied with their relationships.

“Don’t compare your marriage to what you see online. There will always be people who post pictures making it look like they’re having a better time than you and your spouse! Avoid the temptation to make a comparison,” Mauzo advised his followers.

He further emphasized that envy can be detrimental, even disastrous, and encouraged his fans to take a break from social media if needed.

Relationship adviser

On December 16, the singer who has recently been sharing his opinions on all things relationship matters advised women to take control of their relationship goals and clearly communicate their desire for marriage to their partners.

He encouraged women not to shy away from being upfront with their intentions, urging them to demand commitment if that is what they seek.

“Look your boyfriend in the face and tell him, ‘I’m tired of dating. Wife me up or get out of my future husband’s way,’” he wrote.

Mauzo, Vera Sidika

Mauzo is known for his highly publicized relationship with Kenyan socialite Vera Sidika which ended in 2023.

The two who were once married, shared two children.

In May 2024, Vera revealed that there was zero chance of rekindling romance with the singer saying the romance boat had sunk.

In a Q&A session on her Instagram page, a curious fan probed into the idea of the two past lovers rekindling their romance and getting back together.

“Have you ever thought of maybe just maybe you and Mauzo would fix things, get back together respectively?” the fan posed.

Vera said she would never be interested in reconciling with the Mauzo.

The singer is, however, in a relationship with Instagram model Nancy Kabinga, whom he recently revealed he is planning to marry.
