The Kenya Meteorological Department has listed several areas in the country which should expect rainfall.
In a statement on Thursday, December 19, 2024, the weatherman warned that there could be isolated storms with periods of heavy rainfall in some areas.
Rainfall is expected in Western Kenya, Central Highlands, Nairobi, Lake Victoria Basin, Central and South Rift Valley, Southeastern Lowlands, and the Coast.

According to a weather update issued by the weatherman for the period between December 17 and 23, 2024, North-eastern and North-western Kenya are likely to be generally sunny and dry.
“Rainfall is expected to continue over some parts of the Highlands East and West of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin, the Central and South Rift Valley, the South-eastern lowlands and the Coast. North- eastern and North-western Kenya are likely to be generally sunny and dry,” the weatherman stated.
Average daytime (maximum) temperatures of more than 30°C will be experienced in several parts of the country including the Coast, North-eastern and North-western Kenya.
In some parts of the Highlands east and west of the Rift Valley and the Central and North Rift Valley, average night-time (minimum) temperatures will be less than 10°C.
Weather review
In the last one week, night-time (minimum) temperatures increased throughout the country with only a few coastal stations recording marginal decreases.
Rainfall was recorded in several parts of the country most notably the South-eastern lowlands and the Coast.
Day-time (maximum) temperatures increased over most parts of the country though a number of stations including Voi, Malindi and Meru recorded slight cooling.
