Gengetone and Mugiithi singer Miracle Baby, widely known as PeterMwangi, has asked for forgiveness and promised to recommit himself to serving God following his backsliding months after getting saved.

In a statement via his official Instagram account, on Sunday, November 24, 2024, the remorseful singer confessed that he had caused embarrassment to the Lord’s work, stating that he had forgotten what God asked him to do after he was discharged from the hospital.

In addition, the Mugithii singer disclosed that his pride and ego made him desert God’s work; however, he says he is much more willing to go back to salvation.

“God, please forgive me, najua nimehaibisha kazi yenye ulinifanyia nikiwa sina hope ya kuwai ishi tena hii dunia najua nimesahau kwenye ulikua umeniambia niende.

“Hopeless people, na wenye walikua na kiu ya kukujua badala niwafikishie niliingiwa na kiburi na kujiona najua sana, please forgive me for that God akuna kitu naeza bila wewe God, nihurumie nisamehee. LORD, I’ve sinned. Without Your grace, I always fall short. You are faithful to forgive me and cleanse me. I want to walk in righteousness and holiness-but I need Your help,” he said.

Message to Critics

This comes after on November 13, the Wamlambez hit-maker defended himself after being spotted performing at a club alongside his wife Carol Katrue. He said that singing secular songs does not change the fact that he is a born-again Christian, adding that talent is God-given.

“I’ve seen many people question my going back to secular music. Yes, I am back, and I want to address that talent is given by God, and one day he’ll ask me, I gave you a talent. What did you do with it? I’ll still serve the Lord in my own way,” he said.

While quoting a scripture from the Bible, the musician asked his followers not to judge his actions, stating that he needs to work so that he can cater for the needs of his family.

Kitu ingine niko na familiar inanitegemea I need to work so that niweze kuwapea basic needs, e.t.c., so stop judging me coz wewe mwenye unani judge, uko na makosa kama hujui ndio hii; Matthew 7; “Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?” he added.

“I have been approved as a pastor by Apostle John Paul. I will serve God. Thank you, Apostle John Paul, for anointing me with oil. I will serve God until the end,” he shared.

His new path comes after, in an undated video, he was heard saying that if he leaves the hospital bed, he would become a pastor.

“Bwana asifiwe. I’m going to preach. Nikitoka hapa nakua pastor, and I will preach. Wenye wamenisupport God bless you. Mungu anasema hapa ninatoka,” he said.
