‘My heart hurts’ – Kalonzo mourns digital content creator Tabitha Gatwiri

Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has sent a heartfelt condolence message to the family of the late digital content creator who doubled up as an influencer Tabitha Gatwiri.

In the emotional tribute message, Kalonzo expressed that Gatwiri’s death has left him heartbroken describing her as a vibrant knowledgeable young lady who was determined to make the world better with her brilliant ideas.

“My heart hurts as I pen this condolence message to the family of Tabitha Gatwiri.

“I met this incredible soul a few years back. Gatwiri was vibrant indeed knowledgeable. She was a young woman absolutely determined to change the world for the better with her ideas,” Kalonzo wrote on his Facebook page on Friday, November 1, 2024.

Recalling their moments together, the defacto opposition leader said their discussions were mostly on the State of the Nation and what her peers could achieve when given the opportunity.

He further revealed that their last discussion centred on her being part of his communications team.

“Our discussions on the State of the Nation and what her generation could achieve, given the opportunity, were mind-provoking, Our last discussion centred on adding her diversity to my Communications Team,” he added.

“God Almighty had a different plan for Gatwiri and our path has been irretrievably altered.”

Kalonzo further urged Kenyans to not only remember the content creator but also honour Gatwiri in her new path.

“As we come to terms with this defining loss, I know that we all will endeavour, in spirit and purpose, to not only remember this gifted soul, but honour Gatwiri in the new path ahead,” he urged.

Comforting her family, Kalonzo assured them of his support during these trying times adding that she was an incredible gift that God graced them with even for a short time.

“To Gatwiri’s family, and Brian in particular, know that I grieve with and for you. Know that Gatwiri was an incandescent soul; an incredible gift that God graced us with, even for a short time,” he added.

Gatwiri’s death

News about her sudden death went viral on Thursday, October 31, 2024, after her body was discovered in her house.

Her family and friends said Gatwiri passed on after a short illness.

Gatwiri’s body was moved to the Kenyatta University Teaching and Referral Hospital mortuary.

Gatwiri, 29, was known for her comedy skits, which she shares on various social media platforms and YouTube.

Her first skit to go viral was the one she was talking about her university boyfriend and his romantic language.
