The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has urged the public to come forward with any information that could assist in the rearrest of Collins Jumaisi Khalusha, a prime suspect in the murder of several women whose bodies were discovered in Kware, Mukuru Kwa Njenga.

Jumaisi, who was scheduled to face murder charges, managed to escape from custody at the Gigiri Police Station on August 8, 2024, sparking a countrywide manhunt.

In a statement shared on Monday, October 28, 2024, the detectives emphasized their determination to capture the fugitive and highlighted the availability of a significant cash reward for anyone with credible information that could lead to Jumaisi’s arrest.

DCI noted that this incentive is part of efforts to expedite the rearrest of the suspect, who is believed to be connected to the tragic murders of the women in the Mukuru Kwa Njenga area.

“The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) is seeking the public’s help in providing information that could assist in the re-arrest of Collins Jumaisi Khalusha. He was scheduled to be charged with murder but escaped from police custody on Monday, 20/8/2024,” DCI stated.

The authority urged those with knowledge of Jumaisi’s whereabouts to report it to law enforcement immediately.

According to the detectives, Jumaisi hails from Shiru Sub-location in Shaviringa Location, Hamisi Sub-county, Vihiga County, but may have moved to an unknown location following his escape.

Authorities encourage members of the public to make confidential reports through the anonymous #FichuakwaDCI hotline at 0800722203 or the police emergency numbers 999, 911, and 112, or by contacting any police station across the country.

Detectives have stressed that any information provided will be treated in strict confidence to protect the informant’s identity.

Jumaisi’s arrest

Jumaisi was first arrested after mutilated bodies were retrieved from the Kware dumpsite. Detectives raided his house and recovered some items, which they noted were crucial in the investigations.

The detectives further informed the nation that Jumaisi had confessed to the murdérs. However, he later denied the claims, insisting that he was coerced into making the disclosure.
