Police have arrested two individuals in connection with the brutal death of 26-year-old Mercy Rufani, whose body was found dumped in Mwiki along the Eastern Bypass.
The arrests come after an intense manhunt spanning several weeks, bringing authorities closer to solving the tragic case.
Detectives from Kasarani Sub-County apprehended the suspects, identifying them as the last individuals known to have been with Mercy before her death.

Mercy was reported missing from her parents’ home in Pipeline, Embakasi, on September 28, 2024.
The search for her turned into a heart-wrenching saga, culminating in the discovery of her lifeless body.
Police reports describe a disturbing scene, with Mercy partially undressed and bearing multiple injuries.
“The search for her turned into a heart-wrenching saga, culminating in the discovery of her lifeless body, partially undressed and bearing bruises on her thighs, lower back, and left ankle. Beside her, detectives found a black blouse, a blanket, and a mobile phone,” police said.
Further investigations revealed that one of the arrested men had picked up Mercy from her home in Pipeline in a Mazda vehicle on the night of her disappearance and taken her to his residence in Komarock.
“It was further established that on that fateful night, [the person arrested] picked up Mercy from her home in a Mazda motor vehicle and proceeded to his house in Komarock. While at the parking lot, a misunderstanding ensued, leading to a confrontation in which [he] assaulted Mercy, resulting in her death,” DCI noted.
The police added that the suspect then called an accomplice to assist in disposing of Mercy’s body.

“Following forensic trails, detectives flushed the two men out of their hideouts in Komarock Estate and Tononoka area in Embakasi, respectively,” police said.
