Viral Misheveve chief tours parliament buildings, presents issues affecting his people to area MP

Viral Micheveve chief Protus Wechuli who hails from Saboti sub-County in Trans-Nzoia County on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, toured Parliament buildings and presented issues affecting his people to area MP Caleb Amisi.

In a statement on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, Amisi hosted the chief who shot to the limelight following his narration of a crime that had occurred in the Saboti location, his administrative area.

“Today, I hosted the chief of Saboti location in Saboti Constituency. He presented various issues of the people of Saboti location to my office and discussed ways of improving the security and well-being of my constituents,” Amisi noted.

Adding: “I welcome his comical and hilarious manner of handling the citizens and shared more progressive ways of non-confrontational means of maintaining law and order in our rural communities.”

The administrator locally known as Protus Wechule Sifuna has been a chief of the location since 2007.

The Misheveve chief shot to prominence after a 2016 video of him narrating a crime in his location started trending eight years later in 2024.

Misheveve viral narration

In his narration, the Misheveve chief talked of a man who was suspected to have killed his father and assaulted his mother following a domestic dispute over food.

The suspect was livid that his mother had cooked pumpkin leaves instead of his favourite vegetable – sarat, and would soon descend on the woman with blows and kicks.

The suspect’s father who had been inside his room during the fracas raised his voice and the mother used the opportunity to flee.

However, the suspect would lock himself inside with his father and beat him to death.

The narration has since dominated social circles due to its comic description of the otherwise tragic events of 2016.

The chief who is now an internet sensation added that the perpetrator went ahead to chew the fingers of his dead father.

In an interview with a local TV, Misheveve chief said he recently had the woman registered as a widow for financial assistance.

He observed that while his tour of duty is set to come to an end sometime in 2025, he is ready to serve in whatever capacity, as he is still vibrant and energetic.

“My duty of office is almost coming to an end somewhere early next year, but should I get any opportunity from any quarter; because I see myself as very energetic, vibrant and fond of people, I will still serve with humanity in whatever framework I shall be bestowed,” he stated.
