Kiza Lounge in Kilimani, Nairobi has announced that it will indefinitely close business beginning Friday, March 20.

The nightclub’s management says the decision has been arrived at following Health CS Mutahi Kagwe’s directive that entertainment spots must ensure revellers are observing social distancing due to COVID-19 outbreak.

The CS, on Friday, also ordered that commercial drinking joints countrywide should close business by 7:30pm beginning Monday, March 23.

“Our esteemed clients and staff, this is to notify you that Kiza Lounge & Restaurant will remain closed effective March 20, 2020 until further notice,” read the nightspot’s press statement posted on their Instagram page Friday evening (Mach 20).

“This is due to the outbreak of COVID-19, popularly known as coronavirus, and [also] in line with the Government directive requiring that all businesses maintain high standards of hygiene and to observe social distancing at all times,” said Kiza Lounge.
