Rapper Octopizzo believes the country is missing the bigger picture by focusing solely on the impeachment of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
The Namba Nane hitmaker argues that Kenya needs a complete overhaul of leadership, calling for both the President and Deputy President to resign.

He emphasized that having lived in the slums and experienced the daily struggles of ordinary Kenyans, removing one leader would not address the country’s deep-rooted issues of corruption, incompetence, and lack of accountability throughout the government.
“As someone who has lived in the slums and worked informal jobs, I understand the challenges that everyday Kenyans face. The call to impeach the Vice President misses the bigger picture. This isn’t just about one leader—the real problem is the deep-rooted corruption, incompetence, and lack of accountability across the entire government,” Octopizzo said.
He added that removing one leader won’t solve the systemic issues the country faces. According to him, Kenya needs leaders who prioritize serving the people and a government that is genuinely focused on the welfare of its citizens.
“It’s not enough to remove one figure when the whole system is failing. We need a complete overhaul, with leadership focused on service, not self-interest. Both the President and Deputy President should step down. We must demand leaders who uphold integrity, transparency, and real change for all Kenyans. Our country deserves a government that prioritizes its people,” he added.
Public participation in the motion to impeach Gachagua has begun across the country. The discussions kicked off on Friday, October 4, 2024, after National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula directed the clerk to publish a list of locations where debates on the motion will take place in all 47 counties.
In Mombasa County, discussions are being held at Tononoka Grounds, while Taita-Taveta’s debates are taking place at the Mwatate CDF Hall. In Kwale, the public participation is at the Kwale Cultural Centre, and Kilifi County’s sessions are at the Coast Development Authority Hall in Kilifi.
In Garissa County, the discussions are being held at the Hola County Hall, while Lamu’s sessions are happening at the KCB Hall. In Nairobi, the public participation sessions are at Town Hall.
