The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has instructed vehicle owners, companies, dealers, and financial institutions to collect unclaimed number plates and logbooks from the respective centres where they applied.

In a statement shared on Thursday, September 26, 2024, NTSA revealed that so many number plates and logbooks remain unclaimed by the applicants across their brunches leading to a backlog.

The authority is now urging applicants to collect the documents to avoid delays in future applications.

“Thousands of Number plates and Logbooks remain uncollected across NTSA offices. The Authority directs motor vehicle owners companies, dealers and financial institutions to collect reflective number plates and logbooks from the centres identified during the application process,” NTSA stated.

The authority also provided details on the documents required for collection. Owners must return their old plates and present an identification document to pick up a number plate. For logbooks, the previous logbook and an identification document are required.

Regarding the service timelines, the authority noted that number plates should be collected within seven working days, while logbooks should be picked up within three working days after the application is processed.
