Digital content creator cum Radio presenter Deyanar Kimani has explained why she charges men who ask for her phone number.

In an interview with K24 TV on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, the radio presenter disclosed that the current majority of men cannot take no for an answer whenever they ask a lady out.

She went on to say that even when you tell them you are in a serious relationship or not in the right state of mind to be romantically involved they still can not back off.

Additionally, the radio queen further disclosed that she has improvised a mechanism that she uses to keep off those busybodies by charging Ksh10,000 for her number.

Deyanar added that her mechanism has worked since those who are genuine pay to have her number.

“Right now telling a man you already have a boyfriend won’t work. Telling them that you are not in the right head space to date it won’t work but the moment you tell them unataka number yangu haya nipe kapa kumi (Ksh10,000) he won’t accept it he would be like I won’t do it and the ones who really want it will pay and some do pay,” she explained.

“Yes because I have been paid for my time, they say I do like you I might go for lunch alafu tena you have to pay for that time because am just not a free good,” Deyanar added.

Comparing romantic relationships before social media, the radio presenter stated that before love was genuine adding that with the internet era, love is more of a business deal.

“There was genuine love before. Right now there are too many factors. Right relationships are more of a business deal. Before, the relationships were real,” she said.
