Lang’ata constituency Member of Parliament (MP) Phelix Oduor, popularly known as Jalang’o, has hailed US singer Jason Derulo’s Kenyan doppelgänger Remcy Don for his courage and determination.

Speaking during an interview with the Iko Nini podcast host Mwafreeka, the former radio host disclosed that he is impressed by Derulo’s lookalike hustle, adding that, unlike other celebrities’ doppelgänger, Remcy has taken advantage of his appearance to make ends meet without asking for help from the US rapper.

Supporting his rate card idea, Jalas stated that locally available Jason Derulo has not forced anyone to pay for his services, adding that it is a willing buyer, willing seller approach.

Yeye si Derulo ye ni Deruro, Deruro mimi nampenda kwa sababu yeye for me hiyo kitu yake ameanza kujitafutia hustle yake hapa na pale. Hajaambia Jason unajua tunafanana sasa wewe lazima nikuwe responsibility yako,” Jalang’o said.

Yeye amejichocha akasema mimi nafanana na Jason, so ukitaka kuona Jason imbo wewe nipigie simu rate card yangu ndio hii. Hajakulazimisha ulipe lakini ukimtaka kwa shughuli yako lazima umlipe.

Rate card

The internet sensation, during an interview with a local radio station, announced that he would be charging Ksh150K for a special appearance, while event appearances will cost Ksh600K adding that he would be sharing detailed rate cards soon on his socials.

“Rate card yangu saa hii kama (my current rate card) appearance is Ksh150,000, lakini inadepend (but it also depends) on the time frame. Performance itaenda juu (if you want him to entertain your audience with his vocals, you have to pay him not less than) Ksh600,000,” he disclosed.

Kuona tu internationally recognized local available lazima ufike bei, imagine wa majuu akifika huku lakini shida ni hawezi patikana mimi sai ndio niko.

Who is Remcy Don?

Remcy describes himself as Kenyan Jason Derulo, a content creator-cum-musician, internationally recognized, and locally available on his social media bio.

He is also a R&B and bongo sensational artist who started singing in 2018. He was in a band and took the solo career path in 2020 when the band split.

Remcy is still a freelance musician and has worked with some renowned labels in the country, like Royal State Picture, which is a top stable in the visuals industry.
