List of counties set to experience power blackout on Wednesday

Kenya Power has announced that six counties will be affected by the planned power interruption on Wednesday, September 4, 2024.

In a statement on Wednesday, the utility company stated that the power interruptions, which are meant for maintenance purposes, will happen between 8 am and 5 pm.

Affected counties

Nairobi county areas set to be hit by power blackout include Parklands Avenue, Kusi Lane, Ngao Road, Thika Road, Ramanda, Muthaiga North Road, Utalii Village, NYS, NIS, KISM, Survey of Kenya, GSU and adjacent customers.

In Kisumu County, the 8:00 am to 5:00 pm power interruption will affect areas in Chiga, Wildor School, K. Ochieng Centre, Kausi market, Nyamonge, Tom Owour, Mayienya Secondary School, Chiga Markert, Obumba School, Kasese market, Masawa, Kasarani, Hera Church, Rweya, Bungu and adjacent customers.

In Kakamega County, the outage will affect residents of Lutaso Market, Nancy Academy, Mukhweso Junction, Navakholo Market, Dorofu Market and adjacent customers.

Also, residents of Kotieno, Makaka, Seka, Kamser Seka, Rambira, Karabondi, Kajiei, Rakwaro, Osodo, Kobala, Burlum, Konyanch in Homa County will experience power blackout from 9.00 am to 4.00 pm.

Nyamira County, areas set to be hit by the 9:00 am to 4:00 pm planned power interruption include Nyamira town, Kebirigo, Sanganyi, Kebirigo, Makairo, Sironga, Konate, Miruka and adjacent customers.

The power interruption in Embu County will affect residents and business owners in Kivaa Market, Kengen Hydro Plaza, Kyaani Market, Kyaani Primary, Masaku, Ngetani, Kyangosi, Nunguni, Kthui Primary and adjacent customers.
