President William Ruto has complained about being pressured and even sometimes threatened over allocating development projects.
Speaking on Thursday, August 29, 2024, during the launch of various development projects in Homa Bay County, Ruto told the residents that Kabondo Kasipul Member of Parliament Eva Obara has been on his neck demanding key development projects.
On a light note, Ruto jested that Obara threatened to cause trouble if Kabondo Kasipul residents did not recieve a water project.
While laughing, Ruto went on to indicate that the area MP had not only pressured him but also threatened him over the said development project.
However, Ruto assured the residents and the area MP that his administration had set aside funds to actualise their demands.
“Huyu mama Obara ameniambia hawa watu wa hapa wasipopata maji ataleta shida. Sasa wewe mama usinilete shida, maji hawa watu wako watakunywa (This womán, Obara (referring to Kabondo Kasipul MP Eva Obara) has told me that she will cause trouble if the péople don’t get water).
“Si umeskia nimetangaza mambo ya pesa lakini muambie uyu mama anipeleke pole pole. Ananisukuma sana mpaka saa zingine ananitisha. Sasa wewe mama unanitisha kwa sababu gani? Si mumuambie anipeleke pole pole ama nyinyi ndio mmemtuma anisukume? (You have heard I have announced money allocation so kindly advise her to take me slow. She is really pushing and even sometimes threatening me! So why are you threatening me? Tell her to take me slow or are you the one who have sent her to push me?” Ruto questioned while laughing.
“Lakini mtusukume namna hii ndio tuwafanyie kazi (but you should continue pushing us so that we can serve you),” Ruto added.
