The Kenya Meteorological Department has issued a weather forecast for Tuesday, August 27, 2024, to Monday, September 2, 2024.
According to the weatherman, the general outlook for the seven days will be characterised by intermittent cool and cloudy conditions in some parts of the Central Highlands, Western Kenya, Rift Valley and the South-eastern regions.
“Intermittent cold and cloudy conditions are expected in parts of the Central Highlands, Western Kenya, Rift Valley, and South-eastern regions,” Kenya Met stated.
The weatherman further announced that some areas in the country will receive rains accompanied by thunderstorms with high daytime temperatures and low night-time temperatures during that period.
“Rainfall is likely at the start of the forecast period in parts of Western Kenya, Central Highlands, Rift Valley, Coast, and North-eastern Kenya, Low night-time temperatures (below 10°C) expected in some parts of the Central Highlands, Rift Valley, and South-eastern lowlands,” Weatherman announced.
“High daytime temperatures (above 30°C) are to be experienced in parts of the Coast, North-eastern, and North-western Kenya.”

Rainy season
From August 17, 2024, to Wednesday, August 21, 2024, several areas within the Highlands West of Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin and the Rift Valley country experienced rainfall.
The showers were accompanied by thunderstorms in the afternoon throughout the five days.
“Rainfall is expected to continue over some parts of the Highlands East and West of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin, the Rift Valley and North-western Kenya,” the weatherman predicted.
According to Kenya Met counties within this region include Siaya, Kisumu, Homabay, Migori, Kisii, Nyamira, Trans Nzoia, Baringo, Uasin Gishu, Elgeyo-Marakwet, Nandi, Nakuru, Narok, Kericho, Bomet, Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma, Busia and West Pokot.
