Sunday’s blackout to affect 3 counties

Kenya Power has announced a blackout scheduled for Sunday, August 25, 2024, which will affect several areas across four counties.

The utility company stated that the outage is necessary to facilitate routine network maintenance.

In Nairobi County, the power outage will impact parts of Babadogo. The affected areas include Roy Transporters, Kenafric Confectionary Factory, Kenafric Sweet Factory, LG Harries, Unicorn, Babadogo Secondary School, Trade Setters Industries, Babadogo Business Park, Kenafric Business Park, Babadogo Laundry Village, Babadogo Mosque, Sai Raj, Riverside Estate, Kariadudu, and adjacent customers. The blackout in these areas is expected to last from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Residents of Kisumu County, specifically those in Pipeline Estate and Police Line, will also experience a power interruption. The affected areas include the Museum, Pipeline Estate, Nyalenda Railways, Argwings Kodhek Estate, Rotary, Police Line, Khetias Supermarket, and surrounding customers. The power outage in these regions is scheduled from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

In Kisii County, parts of Kisii Town will be without electricity from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm. The blackout will affect Denmark and National Petrol Station, KPLC Stores, Ouru Superstores, Supa Loaf Bakery, Darajambili Market, Mwenzangu, Industrial Area, and adjacent customers.

Lastly, in Lamu County, the power interruption will affect several areas, including Lamu Island, Lapset, KPA Lamu, Mokowe, Manda, Hindi, Mpeketoni, Witu, Kipini, Moa, Chakamba, and adjacent customers. The blackout is scheduled to last from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
