Narc Kenya party leader Martha Karua has revealed that swimming and dancing are part of her hobby activities.

Karua, who is known for her strong political views, was trending on social media platforms after her photo playing pool table at an undisclosed place emerged.

In response to a tweet, Karua went ahead to state what she loves doing during her free time.

“I swim, play golf, socialise, and occasionally dance,” she said in a statement on X on Thursday, August 22, 2024.

Karua’s public, political activities

She is one of the senior politicians in the country and remains a vocal critic of William Ruto’s government.

The former Gichugu Member of Parliament is also a key leader in the opposition coalition, the Azimio La Umoja-One Kwanza alliance.

During the widespread demonstrations by Gen Zs against Ruto’s government, Karua stood with the youth and, on numerous occasions, condemned police brutality against the protestors.

Her recent public appearance was at Jimi Wanjigi’s residence after the businessman’s house was raided by the police. The raid by the police was conducted on Friday, August 9, 2024.

The Justice and Constitutional Affairs minister in Mwai Kibaki’s administration condemned the police and said that Wanjigi is not a fugitive and that he could have presented himself before the police if he had been summoned legally.

“The Ruto regime can deploy close to 200 or more police officers at Jimi Wanjigi’s residences, and they are not able to say what offence they are investigating; they cannot come in and break without a court warrant.

“Jimi is not a fugitive if they summon him in the manner the lawyer is saying, and under the law he would defiantly present himself at the police station, but coming to vandalise his house like goons interfering with internet connection, interfering with electricity, which we fear they were making sure the CCTV does not record what they were doing,” Karua said then.

With Raila Odinga leaving the political scene, for now, as he focuses on the African Union Commission chairman’s post, Karua and her allies; Eugene Wamalwa, Kalonzo Musyoka and Jeremiah Kioni will be closely watched.
