Wednesday power blackout to affect 7 counties

Kenya Power has announced a Wednesday, August 14, 2024, power interruption that is set to hit seven counties across the country.

In their notice on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, the electricity company said the interruption was caused by routine network maintenance of the electricity grid.

Nairobi County

The following areas around Karen and Ngong Road will experience disruption of electricity from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm: Ngong View Estate, The Hub, Tree Lane, Part of Windy Ridge, D.O.D. Westwood, Kerarapon Rd., part of Ngong Road, and adjacent customers.

Kakamega County

The following areas will experience power interruptions from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Muhila Hospital, Muhila School, Mujiti Market, Ekonjero Market, Emurumba Market, and adjacent customers.

Bungoma County

The following areas in Bungoma County will experience a power outage from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm.

Miendo, Matisi Water, Matisi Market, Miendo, Kiboochi, Bokoli Market, Namawanga, Machakha, Malokho, Samita, Bukembe

Homa Bay County

The following areas in Homa Bay County will experience a power interruption from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Rangwe, Nyauu, Asumbi Complex, Koyoo, Namba, Nyawita, Sinogo, Pala Masogo, Oluso, Nyambare, Rabango, Orego, Nyandiwa, Wangapala Kolielo, and adjacent customers.

Similarly, Uozi, Siambi, Mulundu, Ogina, Soklo, Katimba, Yokia, Nyakwiri, and adjacent customers will also have no electricity supply.

Nyeri County

The following areas will have no power from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm: Karura Mkt, Karura Coffee Fact, Karura Primary Sch, Eng. Maina area, Gathumbi Village, Part of Unjiru Village, Ngari Junior Village, Ragati Primary Sch, Ragati Sec Sch, Iharu Village, Gikumbo Mkt, Kiandara Village, Gathambo TBC, Gaturumo-Ini TBC, Kiamigwi Village, Shauri Moyo, Kihuro Village, Gaikuyu Mkt, Magutu Sec Sch, Safaricom & Airtel Boosters & adjacent customers.

Murang’a County

The following areas will experience electricity interruptions from 8: 00 am to 5: 00 pm.

Karungangi, Gikono, AAA Growers, Gakuyo Est, Pro Gas, Shalimah Farm, Mukeu Farm, Montezuma Mortuary, Makindi Farm, Tosheka Village, Methi, Kabati Mkt, Ken Matiba Hosp, Makenji, and adjacent customers.

Isiolo County

The blackout will affect Maili Saba, Maili Tatu, Archers Post, Sarova, and Wamba areas from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

The other areas that will experience the power interruption are Kona Mbaya, BBC, Maili Tano, Royal Acacia, Range Lands, Africa Eco, Red Cross, Canaan, Mugae, Harkrishina, Meru Wood, Isico, Ndunyuruma, Colourful World, Bula Mpya, Olajarole, Pepo La Tumaini, Kambi Odha, Isiolo Livestock Mkt, Kambi Garba Islamic Sch, Part of Nagele, Kambi Garba Catholic Mission, Kambi Turkana, School of Artillery, Elboran Resort, Tractor, Kiwanja, Attan Primary Sch, Ngaremara Mkt, Ngaremara Catholic Mission, Manyatta Zebra, School of Military Engineering, Sarova Shamba, Whole of Archers Post, Safaricom BTS Archers, Kalama Centre, Lerata, Lengusaka, Sionta, Safaricom BTS Wamba, Whole of Wamba, LKSIN, Swari, Londokwe and adjacent customers.
