Kenyan socialite and entrepreneur Huddah Monroe has reacted to Mumias East Member of Parliament (MP) Peter Salasya gushing over her.
Taking to her Instastories, Huddah sarcastically insinuated that Salasya’s advances were influenced by the marijuana from Busia County.
“Naona bangi za Busia Zilimuonyesha mimi, (I see marijuana from Busia showed him me),” she said.
On Thursday, August 9, 2024, Salasya showed interest in her while praising the socialite for supporting Generation Z’s anti-government countrywide protests.
According to Salasya, Huddah’s solidarity towards Gen Z’s demos is something commendable.
Huddah on Demos
On July 30, 2024, the businesswoman emphasised the need for unity behind a single cause, urging the anti-government protesters to maintain a clear plan.
She added that the protestors’ plan should be maintained and followed to the letter.
“A single plan is important. If it’s #RUTOMUSTGO that should be the new national anthem. Until done, then move to others,” she stated.
Huddah highlighted the effectiveness of past movements like #OccupyParliament, which she credited to having specific goals and coordinated efforts.
She further urged the protesters to come up with directives for the next demonstration.
“Last time it was ‘occupy parliament’; we did that. Now we need something,” Huddah said.
Huddah suggested that the organisers of the protests should change the days of the protests without the government’s knowledge.
The socialite said her plan would catch the police off-guard as they would be prepared for the protests on Tuesday (Referring to previous demos held on Tuesday).
“We should post like this and not show up tomorrow and instead show up on Wednesday! Coz tomorrow they’ll be ready for us. Let the anti-demos police show up tomorrow and talk to themselves. Then Wednesday we go full-blown! 10 million strong,” Huddah wrote.
Before showing solidarity with the protesters, on July 2, 2024, Huddah had earlier expressed her frustration over the protests, criticizing their lack of focus compared to previous demonstrations.
“Can we choose one movement and stick to it until accomplished? Movements without direction lead nowhere! It’s pure exhaustion. Let’s choose one, aim at it, and go to the next,” Huddah wrote.
Huddah insisted that there was a need for unity behind a single cause, urging protesters, particularly Gen Z participants, to maintain a clear plan.
“A single plan is important. If it’s #RUTOMUSTGO that should be the new national anthem. Until done, then move to others,” she stated.
