President William Ruto and Sports and Youth Affairs CS nominee Kipchumba Murkomen have sent congratulatory remarks to Faith Cherotich after her impressive performance in the 3000m steeplechase at the Paris Olympic Games.
In a statement shared on his X account, President Ruto expressed his pride and joy at Cherotich’s achievement.
The Head of State highlighted how her success has brought great happiness and pride to the nation. President Ruto also thanked Cherotich for representing Kenya with such distinction.
“Congratulations Faith Cherotich for winning the bronze medal in the 3000m steeplechase at the Paris Olympic Games. You have filled our hearts with joy and pride. We are grateful to you for being a good ambassador of our country,” Ruto stated.
Kipchumba Murkomen also praised the young athlete for her outstanding debut performance.
“Congratulations, Faith Cherotich, our young track sensation. By winning a bronze medal in the 3000m steeplechase in your first stint in the Olympics, you have underscored the incredible pool of young talent in our country. The future is bright. Beatrice Chepkoech has put up a strong show, too. Hongera!” Murkomen expressed.
