Gachagua, wife hold talks with UK High Commissioner in Aberdares night meeting

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and his spouse Dorcas Rigathi on Saturday, August 3, 2024, held talks with British High Commissioner to Kenya Neil Wigan.

The Saturday night meeting happened at Treetops Lodge inside Aberdares National Park in Nyeri County.

The second in command took to his official X account to share brief details of the meeting.

During the meeting, Gachagua was accompanied by Nyeri County Deputy Governor David Kinaniri, among other guests.

Gachagua shared the photos from the fireside chat, but did not reveal what the discussion was all about.

“A great evening fireside chat with my Spouse Pastor Dorcas, British High Commissioner to Kenya H.E. Neil Wigan, David Kinaniri, Deputy Governor, Nyeri, and other guests at the iconic Treetops Lodge, which was officially re-opened earlier today at the Aberdares National Park,” Gachagua stated.

Prior to the meeting, Gachagua and his spouse had an evening game drive at the park with the British High Commissioner to Kenya.

Chen Zhiwen, the Director of Political Section, Embassy of the People’s Republic of China, accompanied Gachagua during the game drive.

“The majestic and marvelous natural resources of our country offer breathtaking and incredible adventuring experiences for tourists. Such is the scenic Aberdares National Park, whose fresh water rivers and frequent rains thrills.

“A game drive this evening, with my Spouse Pastor Dorcas, British High Commissioner to Kenya H.E. Neil Wigan, OBE, Chen Zhiwen the Director of Political Section, Embassy of the People’s Republic of China was a remarkable experience,” Gachagua said.

The DP had graced the re-opening of The TreeTop Lodge, which had closed during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The hotel’s reopening was presided over by Neil Wigan, the British High Commissioner to Kenya.

“Kenya is a beautiful internationally renowned tourism and hospitality destination, whose full potential lies in unmatched infrastructure. From scenic waterfalls, numerous indigenous Fauna and Flora, unparalleled hospitality, and a Great People.

“It was a special moment today, accompanied by my Spouse Pastor Dorcas Rigathi, witnessing the grand re-opening of the iconic – The Treetops Lodge – a precolonial hospitality facility – in the expansive Aberdares Tourism Ecosystem,” Gachagua stated.
