DP Gachagua mourns radio commentator Ngugi Njoroge

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has mourned the passing on of veteran radio presenter and political commentator Ngugi Njoroge.

Gachagua in a statement shared via his official X account on Monday, July 29, 2024, said he had learnt with deep sadness the passing on of Njoroge.

Gachagua on Njoroge’s commentary

The second in command mourned the Inooro FM commentator as a prolific political commentator with insightful discussions on development discourse of Kenya.

“I have learnt with deep sadness the passing on of my longtime friend Prof. Ngugi Njoroge. He was a prolific political commentator whose insightful discussions on development discourse of our Nation with his razor-edge oratory skills on Inooro FM‘s Keera show and other platforms,” DP Gachagua said.

Gachagua on being hosted by Njoroge

Gachagua went ahead to state that he is one of the persons that had a privilege of being hosted by Njoroge on his radio show dubbed Keera.

During his interview on the show that he has termed as informative, Gachagua says he enjoyed quality discussions with the fallen host.

“I had the privilege of being hosted by Prof Njoroge on this informative show; we enjoyed quality discussions, as was his characteristic. Indeed, he redefined the role of the media in driving development. Prof. Njoroge was profusely humorous, warm, and charming,” Gachagua said.

Gachagua on Njoroge’s wisdom

While sending his message of condolences to Njoroge’s family and colleagues, Gachagua said his wisdom will be immensely missed.

“His nuggets of wisdom will be immensely missed.  Heartfelt condolences to Professor Njoroge’s family, colleagues at the Royal Media Services and Inooro TV, friends and relatives for this big loss,” he said.

Gachagua on Saturday, July 27, 2024, joined Inooro FM at Carnivore grounds in Nairobi to celebrate their 21st anniversary. 

Government spokesperson Isaac Mwaura has also mourned the Professor as a great connoisseur of local knowledge and history.

Inooro FM presenter Muturi wa Muiru has also mourned his colleague Njoroge.

“So sad. Rest in peace my friend and Colleague Professor Ngugi Njoroge. My condolences to family, relatives, colleagues, friends, Media fraternity and those who knew Professor Ngugi wa Njoroge. Shine on your way Prof. Tùgùtùùra tùkùririkanaga.Hurùka ùhoro,” he stated in a statement shared via his X account.

Njoroge died on Monday, July 29, 2024.

However, the cause of his death is not yet known.
