A Fly 540 aircraft that was headed to Nairobi from Lodwar airstrip on Friday morning crash-landed on an open field in Kapese Village in Turkana County after it developed engine failure.
Fly 540 says the incident involving its DASH8 300 plane of registration number 5Y-CGH happened at 9:54am.
The airline says a suspected foreign object struck the engine leading to unexpected break-down.
K24 Digital understands that the passengers and crew were safely evacuated, and no injuries were reported. We are yet to know the exact number of those affected.
