President William Ruto has put forth former Cabinet Secretary Rebecca Miano to head the docket of Tourism and wildlife.
During his national address on Friday, July 19, 2024, President Ruto while announcing his first batch of Cabinet nominations, announced the resumption of Miano, previously the Cabinet Secretary for Investments and Trade, and reassigned to the role of Attorney General.
During his presser on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, Ruto while announcing his second batch of CS nominees, reshuffled Miano from being a nominee for Attorney General to Cabinet Secretary nominee for Tourism and Wildlife.
During the address to the National Assembly on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, by Speaker Moses Wetang’ula, Miano’s name was notably absent, even though the names of the other ten nominees were included.
Further, the speaker confirmed that all Cabinet nominees, including those reappointed, will undergo a thorough vetting process by Parliament.

Second batch of Cabinet nominees
President William Ruto made public the second batch list of nominees for the positions of Cabinet nominees. His nomination comes weeks after the President sacked his entire cabinet save from Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi.
“Consequently, after extensive consultation, I have nominated the following persons for consideration and approval by the National Assembly for appointment as Cabinet Secretaries,” Ruto stated.
