6 former CSs who have been nominated for Ruto’s new cabinet

President William Ruto in a recent development has nominated a first batch of eleven individuals who will form his new cabinet, six former Cabinet Secretaries have been nominated for those positions.

Speaking during a national address on Friday, July 19, 2024, President Ruto revealed that the move marks a notable shift in assisting in the transformation of the country. 

“I have started the process of forming a new, broad-based cabinet to assist me in driving the urgently needed and irreversible transformation of our country. I hereby nominate the following first batch of 11 individuals for consideration and approval by the National Assembly for appointment as Cabinet Secretaries and Attorney General,” Ruto remarked.

The former cabinet secretaries include:

  1. Alice Wahome-Ministry of Lands, Public Works, Housing and Urban Development
  2. Prof. Kithure Kindiki -Ministry of the Interior and National Administration
  3. Aden Barre Duale – Ministry of Defence
  4. Roselinda Soipan Tuiya -Ministry of Environment, Climate Change and Forestry
  5. Rebecca Miano – Attorney-General
  6. Davis Chirchir -Ministry of Roads and Transport

Further Ruto added that he was still having consultations and would later announce more names of ministers to join his cabinet in due course.
