Mumia East MP Peter Salasya has linked Nairobi’s gloomy weather to divine discontent.
In a statement on his Instagram page on Thursday, July 18, 2024, the legislator expressed his unease over the persistent lack of sunshine, suggesting it could be a sign that the gods are unhappy.
The outspoken MP went on to proclaim his potential as a pastor noting that he would make a very truthful shepherd.
Salasya noted that being born again does not mean one denounces drinking alcohol or quits smoking marijuana.
“Nikiamka kwangu asubuhi in Nairobi saa nne na hakuna jua, juwa kuwa ni siku ya #Maandamano I even don’t bother to go on with my schedules. See today jua halipo its organic nikama pia gods hawako happy,” Salasya remarked.
“I Peter Salasya I can be the best truthful pastor of State House. Kuokoka sio tu kukataa pombe na bangi ni kuwa na upendo wa kibinadamu … yani walking in the love of God,” he added.
Salasya on alcohol addiction
In March 2024, Salasya urged Kenyans, particularly those who struggle with self-control around alcohol, to steer clear of drinking altogether.
His remarks came in support of the government’s efforts to shut down illegal alcohol establishments across the country.
He went on to express his support for the government’s initiative, emphasizing the need to close down these illicit alcohol outlets and arrest their operators.
“If you are out there and you know you are someone who cannot control alcohol, avoid it because alcohol can destroy your life. There are people who take alcohol, they go to joints very early in the name of ‘kutoa lock’, Salasya warned.
“I want to join the government to ensure that the illicit alcohol outlets selling during the day are all shut and owners arrested,” he added.
