He may not be in Kenya but he hasn’t been forgotten.

Miguna Miguna, the self-proclaimed General, is still causing ripples in the country especially online on Facebook and Twitter.

The controversial Kenyan-Canadian lawyer was recently forced to abort his mission to return to the country following his deportation close to two years ago.

On Thursday, January 24, when it was announced by K24 Digital that the fiery lawyer would be featured on K24 TV‘s Punchline show as the next guest, the lawyer immediately trended on Twitter.

Despite the lawyer’s brush with the authorities because of his radical and revolutionary ideas, and particularly, for the role he played in the mock swearing in of Raila Odinga in 2018, many of Kenyan’s netizens are curious to know what he will say on Punchline.

Miguna commands a huge following on Twitter (821,400 followers) and constantly feeds it with his acerbic commentary on Kenya’s public affairs issues. Note: Acerbic means sharply or bitingly critical, sarcastic, or ironic in temper, mood, or tone.

He barely spares his followers, especially when they disagree with him with illogical arguments, quickly terming them zombies.

The lawyer pulls no punches, treating foes and friends alike should they display the faintest of ignorance on issues he is passionate about.

With the Building Bridges Initiative report public sensitization hitting crescendo and with talk of the expected referendum at the centre of discussion, it is quite clear that Kenyans want to know his stance on the two issues.

Of course, he has made his stance known on Twitter but it is the manner in which of his eloquence –the quality of forceful or persuasive expressiveness — with which he delivers his arguments that is of most interest.

As we count the hours to Punchline, it is quite evident which television station Kenyans will be watching on Sunday night.
