Kenyan youths are holding a memorial concert at Uhuru Park Nairobi to honour those who were killed during the anti-government protests witnessed in the past weeks in the country.
According to one of the organizers of the event, human rights activist Boniface Mwangi, the memorial concert aims to celebrate the sacrifices made by the slain protesters.
Mwangi says at least thirty artistes will be performing at the event.
“We are here today to remember the people who were murdered by the police and we want to celebrate their sacrifice to this country we have a big line-up of artistes it’s just a celebration and we going to get the family members of those whom we have lost to come to speak to the country,” he said.
“They died so that the government could listen, it took so many people to die so that the government could listen but now the government is listening.”
