Isaiah Wanjala, the 14-year-old boy who wanted to sell one of his kidneys to finance his high secondary education, has finally joined his dream school.

This follows intervention from the office of Trans Nzoia County MP Janet Nangabo through her foundation and other well-wishers.

Dressed in full school uniform of the Chewoiyet Boys’ High School, shortly after being admitted, Wanjala said that his dream of becoming an engineer is back on course.

“I’m very happy for this support. God has done me a favour. I didn’t expect this,” said Wanjala.

Fred Wanyonyi, his father, could not hide his joy, saying that he can sleep peacefully at night since the burden has been lifted. He has eight other children.

“I feel relieved, thanks to all the well-wishers. I am sure I will sleep like never before,” said the boy’s father.

Speaking on behalf of Trans Nzoia County National Government Affirmative Action Fund, Steve Wanuke said that every child has a right to access education and the fund will support similar genuine cases.

“As an office we value education and no child should be left behind for lack of school fees. We support bright but needy students,” said Wanuke.

Wanjala caught the attention of Emoo FM, which is owned by Mediamax Network Ltd when he came out seeking for a kidney buyer to raise school fees. His story was published on the K24 Digital website.
