A 34-year-old woman is at risk of being slapped with attempted murder charges in Nyeri after she allegedly took her sister’s 13-year-old son who is suffering from cerebral palsy to the forest where she planned to leave him for dead.
The suspect identified as Lydia Wanjugu is alleged to have made the plan with her sister.
She was spotted by members of the public carrying a heavy sack while getting to the forest and they followed her.
It was then that they discovered she was carrying the boy after they conspired with the sister to kill him.
She was arrested by Nyumba Kumi members who took her to the Narumoru Police station.
“Wanjugu was brought to the police by Nyumba Kumi members after they arrested her while trying to take a 13-year-old boy suffering from Cerebral Palsy into the said forest in order for him to die there. The victim was his sister’s son. She was spotted by the public carrying a heavy sack entering the forest and they followed her,” the police report stated.
“She was rearrested and the victim was taken to Metropolitan Sanctuary where children with disability are taken care of,” the police report stated.
Minor assault in Likoni
In another separate incident, police in Likoni Mombasa County have launched investigations to identify the parents and suspect who sodomized a three-year-old boy.
The juvenile is reported to have been dropped off in the evening by an unknown person who escaped.
He was found at the scene by police officers who identified that he could not speak or walk.
They then rushed him to Manyatta hospital and it was established that he had been sodomized and traumatized.
“It was reported by two people that an unknown person had dropped a juvenile of about three years and escaped. The child could not speak or walk. Officers rushed him to the hospital and it was established that he was sodomized,” the police report read in part
Investigations are on by the police to trace the parents of the victim and the suspect.
