President William Ruto is attending the bell-ringing event to launch an enhanced Nairobi Securities Exchange Marketplace in Nairobi County.

The initiative is meant to start off a chance for MSMEs and ‘hustlers’ to participate in the NSE.

According to Ruto’s Digital strategist Dennis Itumbi, the marketplace will be a monthly exercise that will demystify the operations of NSE and create opportunities.

“The NSE Market Place will be a Monthly exercise that will demystify operations of NSE and open up opportunities for the Hustler and Global Investors to be on the Economic table,” Itumbi wrote.

“It is the lack of awareness that has caused a major drop in domestic Investors in the last 10 years. President Ruto will start off that awareness and participation, that President Kibaki had kicked off with the Safaricom IPO and as a result, increased participation in the NSE,” Itumbi added.

Established in 1954, the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) is the leading stock in East Africa.

The exchange brings together investors with opportunities for financial growth through various investment platforms.
