An unknown man has caused a state of agony in a village in the Kibuswo location, Cherang’any constituency, Trans Nzoia County after he engaged in an act of bestiality with a cow on Monday night, October 3, 2022.

Area Chief Gilbert Chepsiror said he received a call from one of his village elders reporting that an unknown man had engaged in an indecent act with a black cow.

The cow was tied before the bizarre act was committed.

“We were shocked to learn that a male person committed the heinous act on an innocent cow” Chepsiror confirmed.

Second incident

The administrator said it was the second incident to happen in that area in recent times. An unknown man had previously committed the act of bestiality with a sheep in the same area.

“This kind of behaviour is becoming rampant in this area. Sometimes this year, another incident was reported in the Tuigoin area,” he said.

Chepsiror linked the act to drug and substance abuse and called on the locals to be vigilant so that the person behind the act is nabbed and charged.

“A right-thinking man cannot commit such an act, we strongly believe whoever did this is highly intoxicated; perhaps he is under the influence of marijuana,” he said.

He said village elders in the area are piecing together some information that can lead to the arrest of the suspect.

“I want to assure all the people of this location that we shall arrest the suspect and charge him with carnal knowledge,” he stated.

Villagers living in fear

A woman who declined to be named condemned the incident and said they are worried because the suspect could prey on young girls and boys.

“This is very dangerous, we are worried that the man could be hiding inside maize farms and even defile and sodomize our children especially when they are going to school or coming back,” she said.
