Two families in Kivou ward, Mwingi Central are in mourning after their kins took away their lives under unknown circumstances.
In the first incident, John Muthui, aged 25, was found dead after he hanged himself using an antenna cable.
Confirming the incident, Mwingi Central Deputy Police Commander Nicholas Mutua noted that Muthui’s brother found his body dangling on the roof when he went to wake him up.
“The area chief reported that Muthui’s brother had gone to wake him up where he found his body dangling from the roof,” Mutua stated.
Mutua suspects that the deceased may have taken his life because he had a pending court case in Garissa law courts where he was accused of murder.
“I suspect the court case might have pushed him to take his own life,” Mutua added.
In the same ward, in Thitha village, a 25-year-old shamba boy (gardener) was found dead in his employer’s home. His employer who sought anonymity said the helper had no signs of depression.
The body of the shamba boy was found lying on his bed
The two bodies were moved to Mwingi level 4 hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem.
