Police in Mombasa have launched a manhunt for a woman who allegedly drugged a man before stealing Ksh596, 000 from his bank account.

According to the Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI), the man was in the coastal town for a business trip.

In the evening, he decided to go to the newly launched VIP Club Volume in Shanzu to unwind.

“After having several drinks alone, the man got attracted to one of Mombasa’s beautiful babes who had swaggered past his table in well-calculated strides.

“Without wasting time, the man who was deeply smitten by her looks beckoned her to join him, before another man laid his eyes on her,” DCI said in a statement.

At about 4:00 am, they headed to Seville apartments, where the man had reserved a suite.

According to the victim, they took a shower before they went back to the room where he took a glass of juice that had been laced with a stupefying drug.

“He passed out until yesterday afternoon when the apartment’s steward knocked on his door,” DCI added.

The man also lost mobile phones, a laptop, ATM cards and other valuables.
