The Kenya Meteorological Department has forecasted rainfall in parts of the country for the next one week from Tuesday, June 18, 2024.
In a statement on Monday, June 17, 2024, the weatherman says parts of the country that will experience showers include central highlands, Western Kenya, Lake Victoria Basin, Rift Valley, and the Coast. Other parts of the country are expected to remain dry.
“Expect rain in Central Highlands, Western Kenya, Lake Victoria Basin, Rift Valley, and the Coast. The rest of Kenya will remain mostly dry,” the weatherman stated.
Daytime temperatures are expected to hit highs of over 30°C in the Coast, North-eastern, and North-western regions. Â
At night, temperatures are expected to fall to lows below 10°C in Central Highlands and Central Rift Valley.
Cold and cloudy conditions are expected in Central Highlands, Western Kenya, South-eastern lowlands, and Rift Valley.
Strong southerly to south-easterly winds (25+ knots) will prevail during the week in the Coast, North-eastern, and North-western regions.
In the last one week, most parts of the country have remained generally dry, with occasional rainfall over a few areas in the Central Highlands, Nairobi, Western Kenya, the Lake Victoria Basin, and the Rift Valley.
High daytime temperatures (over 30°C) were recorded in parts of the Coast, North-eastern, and North-western Kenya.
Low night-time temperatures (below 10°C) were recorded in parts of the Central Highlands and Central Rift Valley.
Intermittent cold and cloudy conditions were recorded in the Central Highlands, Western Kenya, South-eastern lowlands, and the Rift Valley.
Strong southerly to south-easterly winds (25+ knots) were recorded in the Coast, South-eastern lowlands, North-eastern, and North-western Kenya.Â
