Sunday blackout to affect Nairobi, 5 other counties – Kenya Power

Kenya Power has announced a planned blackout that will affect six counties on Sunday, June 16, 2024.

In a statement shared via their official website, the utility company noted that the planned blackout which is part of network maintenance will affect Nairobi, Kakamega, Busia, Siaya, Bungoma, and Laikipia counties.

In Nairobi, the blackout will affect parts of Donholm, Savannah, Saika, Umoja 3 and the whole of Dakar Road from 9 am to 5 pm.

Parts of Donholm and Savannah that will be affected include; Old Donholm, New Donholm, Donholm Total Petrol Station, Donhold Equity Bank, Donholm Co-op Bank, Sunrise Estate, Greenfield Estate, Savannah Estate, Donholm Phase 5 and 6, Police Line, Oyster and adjacent customers.

Similarly, the blackout in Saika and Umoja 3 will affect Saika Maili Saba, Dan Mills, Firoze, Umoja 3 kwa Chief, Mowlem Heights, MYSA Green Saika Sllanga and adjacent customers.

Areas that will be affected along Dakar Road include; the whole of Funzi Road, Dakar Road, part of Kitui Road, KCC offices, Bamburi along Kitui Road and adjacent customers.

In Kakamega, the scheduled blackout will affect the whole of Mumias and Ingotse including Mumias Town, Ekero, Shianda, Khwisero, Ingotse, Lutaso, Musaga and adjacent customers from 12 am to 5 am.

Parts of Busia county that will be affected from 12 am to 5 am include; Busia Town, Korinda, Rwambwa, Bumala, Port Victoria and adjacent customers.

In Siaya, the blackout will affect Ugunja Town, Rang’ala Complex, Nyamninia, Sawagongo, Sigomere, Dominion Farm, Siaya Prison, Ukwala and adjacent customers from 12 am to 5 am.

Parts of Bungoma that will be affected by the planned blackout include Bungoma Town, Kanduyi, Mabanga, Kibabii University, Sibembe, Malakisi, Butonge and adjacent customers from 12 am to 5 am.

In Laikipia, the blackout will affect the whole of Nanyuki Town including Cidar Mall, Huruma Hospital, Sports Man Arms Hotel, Governor’s office, Lerustic Hotel, Nanyuki Mall, Cottage Hospital and adjacent customers from 8 am to 4 pm.
