Governor Mbarire advises every youth to possess passport in readiness for global jobs

Embu Governor Cecily Mbarire has advised youths in the country to obtain passports in readiness for global jobs.
Addressing the media in Embu on Saturday, June 15, 2024, Mbarire stated that passports should be listed as requirements for every youth in the country, adding that youths should promptly secure the travel document to avoid missing out on global job opportunities.
“Nimeskia kwa recruitment agencies kwamba ni vizuri mtu akue na passport, zamani passport ilikua ya yule mtu ambayo alikua anatarajia kua atakua anaenda nje kesho ama kesho kutwa, lakini sasa passport should be a requirement for everybody, young people kila wakati kua na passport ata kama hujaenda, hujui siku ile utahitaji passport,” Mbarire said.
The county head also announced that her administration partnered with recruitment agencies to help residents secure employment overseas. According to her, the initiative which began on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, has been fruitful and several interested candidates have been interviewed for various jobs.
“Tumekua na partnership pamoja na county government kukuja hapa kupatia watu wa Embu county nafasi ya ukuja kukutana na recruitment agencies ambao wanasaidia watoto wetu kupata kazi nje ya Kenya na wamekua hapa tangu Wednesday, na nimefurahi kwamba watoto wetu wameweza kujitokeza.
“Siku ya kwanza we had over 3,000 youth, jana nimekua na the same, leo ndio number sijapata bado but bado ni hio hio, thats to show that watoto wetu wengine wako hapa bila kazi na nataka kushukuru national government through the president,” the governor said.
She, however, stated that a section of interviewees have not obtained their passports and has promised that the Embu county government will work closely with the immigration department to secure passports for candidates who pass their interviews.
“We are going to work very closely with the immigration department na wale watachukuliwa kwa hizi interviews tutahakikisha passports zao zimetoka kwa haraka,” she said.
