By announcing that it will facilitate Miguna Miguna’s reentry into the country, the Immigration Department seems to have preempted the drama that may have been expected to greet the fiery lawyer’s return.

On Monday, the Immigration Department said that it will not stand in the way of Miguna Miguna’s return tomorrow.

“This is to confirm that in compliance with the court orders issued on December 14, 2018, the Directorate will facilitate Dr Miguna’s entry into Kenya,” said Immigration Director-General Alexander Muteshi.

Before the statement from the Immigration Department was issued, the High Court has also issued orders restraining the State from blocking the controversial lawyer’s return home.

As expected of the rambunctious lawyer, he quickly took to social media to post the orders given by the court on Tuesday on his return, including being given back his passport.

Miguna Miguna has been nursing a bruised ego after he was blocked from entering the country in 2018 following his deportation.

His deportation followed the mock swearing-in of Raila Odinga as the people’s president in January 2018 at Uhuru Park at the height of the post-election tensions.
