Kenya Power has announced a scheduled blackout that will affect several parts of seven counties on Tuesday, May 21, 2024.
In a statement on Monday, Kenya Power provided details about the areas and timings for the planned outage.
The utility company cited routine maintenance as the reason for the temporary interruption.
In Kajiado County, power will be interrupted in parts of Isinya, including Pipeline Rd, Ramoda, KEDA Ceramic, Glob Seal, Inkiito, Isinya Town, Ashanti, Tumaini, Kingsun, Sabsahara, Diaspora, PJ Dave, Namanga Rd, Enchoroi, and adjacent customers. The blackout is scheduled from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
In Baringo County, areas that will be affected include Mogotio Equator, Muiya Dam, Molok, Ravine Glory Hospital, Lomanira, and adjacent customers. The power outage will last from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Kenya Power announced that in Nyandarua County, the whole of Weru, Githabai, Kwa Joma, Koinange, Gituro, Kiahuko, Kwa White, Kirima, Kwa Ben, Elmer Resort, Rimiflora, Murungaru, Top Harvest Farm, Memo Centre, Turasha, Mwangaza, Kihumbu, Jura, Lereshwa, Neema Children’s Home, and adjacent customers will experience a blackout from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm.
Additionally, Nzoia County residents in Kitalale, Kinyoro, Kisawai, Saboti, Muroki, Mlango, Cheptumbelio, Elgon Tea, Gitwamba, Mengo, Kitalale, Nakami, Olkadongo ADC, Panocal, Marambachi, and adjacent customers should prepare for a power outage from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Kisii County will also be affected by the temporary blackout. Part of Kisii Town, including Embonga Hotel, Kisii East Garage, CITAM Church, Senti, Botori SDA, Marshpark Hotel, Bosongo Hospital, Le-Premier Hotel, Kisii Junction Hotel, and Mwenzangu Building will be without power from 7:20 am to 2:20 pm.
In Nyeri County, Naromoru Town and surrounding areas such as Isacco, Triple AAA Growers, Naromoru Hospital, Naromoru Total Petrol Station, Police Line, River Lodge, and Naromoru Sewer Line will experience an outage from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
In Kiambu County, parts of Ruiru Prisons, Super Foam, DPI, Kenya Tents, Redland Roses, OJ, Shell OJ Petrol Station, Sweet Water, Little More, BTL Police, Membley Riverside, Tatu, Crawford International School, Hardy Kenya, and adjacent customers will be affected from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. Additionally, Kikuyu Town and Kidfarmaco will face a blackout from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
