The Ethics and Anti-corruption Commission (EACC) has recovered Ksh3.2 billion land in Eldoret, belonging to government agencies.

EACC spokesperson Eric Ngumbi confirmed the recovery saying the land belongs to the Judiciary, Administration Police, Uasin Gishu County Referral Hospital, County Fire Station, and the Uasin Gishu County Assembly.

He says the land was grabbed by private companies owned by individuals in collusion with corrupt land officials.

One of the grabbed properties that have been recovered is a residential house hosting the judge of the Environment and Land Court in Eldoret.

Ngumbi revealed that 97 other properties worth Ksh7.4 billion currently in private hands in Eldoret Town are under investigation for recovery and return to the public.
