No severe flooding is expected in the following days – weatherman

The Kenya Meteorological Department has said there will be no severe flooding in the country in the following days.

The weatherman, however, stated that the rains will continue in Western Kenya, parts of the Rift Valley, Central Kenya and the coastal strip.

The met department added that the following was because the peak of rains was in April.

“The peak of rains was in April, so no severe flooding is likely. Occasional rain is however likely over Western Kenya, parts of the Rift Valley, Central Kenya, & coastal strip,” the department said in a statement.

The weatherman additionally encouraged Kenyans interested in outdoor activities to proceed since the weather conditions were becoming favourable.

“Game parks should generally be accessible. Enjoy ua vacation!” the met department added.

Yesterday, the weatherman stated that the rains will continue over the highlands East and West of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin and the Rift Valley.

The met department, however, announced that parts of the Coast, Northeastern and Northwestern Kenya Kenya will experience high average daytime with maximum temperatures of more than 30 degrees.

“However, low average night-time (minimum) temperatures dropping below 10°C, are likely over some parts of the Central Highlands,” the department added.

On Saturday, the weatherman said there would be a significant reduction in rainfall across different regions, however, areas within the Western, Rift Valley, Central Kenya and the Lake Victoria Basin regions would experience occasional rainfall.

“Sunny intervals are expected across most parts of the country, with a significant reduction in rainfall likely across various regions. However, occasional rainfall is also expected, particularly in Western, Rift Valley, Central Kenya, and the Lake Victoria Basin 🌦️ #WeatherUpdate,” the weatherman said in a statement.
