Police in Kericho are currently pursuing a suspect accused of cutting off his wife’s ears for failing to follow his instructions and obeying his commands.

According to a police report, the suspect who hails from Sigowet-Soin, chopped off both of his wife’s ears after a heated exchange.

He then fled the scene immediately leaving his injured wife bleeding in pain.

“The suspect escaped immediately after committing the crime,” the police report reads in parts.

Neighbours expressed their shock over the incident stating that it was an unusual case that had never happened in the area.

Police have intensified efforts to find the suspect and present him in court.

Meanwhile, the victim was rushed to a nearby health facility where she is currently being treated.

The latest comes days after a 59-year old man killed his 16-year-old daughter over unending domestic wrangles with his wife.

Prior to the unfortunate incident, the man is said to have left the rented family house after endless arguements with his wife.

He, however, reappeared on Sunday evening, May 5, 2024, and found his daughter home alone.

Thereafter, he pounced on her before stabbing her severally in the chest, back, abdomen and hands.

Afterwards, the father turned on himself and inflicted severe injuries on his abdomen, killing him.

Isinya sub-county police commander Patrick Munyasi confirmed the incident noting that investigations are ongoing.

The bodies were moved to Shallom Community Hospital awaiting autopsies.

“It is unfortunate that two lives have been lost. I want to appeal to families to resolve disputes in an amicable way. Ending life in a brutal way as revenge is not a solution,” Manyasi said.
