Kilimani police boss, Michael Muchiri, says Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Techonlogy student, Brian Bera, who attempted forceful access to State House is still admitted at the Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH), contrary to reports that Bera disappeared from the facility.

Speaking to K24 Digital on Wednesday, Muchiri said news outlets that reported Bera’s alleged disappearance “got their facts wrong”.

“Bera is still hospitalised at KNH. We are waiting for doctors to tell us when they would discharge him so that we can take him to court. We are also relying on doctor’s report about the suspect’s mental well-being. If they say he is unfit to stand trial, then we would see the next cause of action,” said Muchiri.

Bera, a Fifth Year mechanical engineering student, was taken to hospital on June 10 after being shot while scaling State House-Nairobi fence.

The student said he was on a mission to “harm” President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Bera, according to a previous revelation by his schoolmate, believed President Kenyatta “has done nothing” to ensure his forefathers’ land “grabbed” in Mt Elgon region is returned to his family.
