Bensoul
Nviiri’s exit comes a year after his peer Bensoul announced his exit from Sol Generation.
Speaking to a local radio station in April 2023, Bensoul opened up about his plan to exit Sol Generation at the lapse of his contract.
The musician revealed he was leaving to open his own record label dubbed ‘Lion of Sudah’.
He noted that he was leaving at a time when he felt he had gathered enough experience for him to run his own label, adding that things are already in motion to make the transition as smooth as possible.
“Considering everything that I have learned at Sol Generation I feel like I’m ready to handle my own empire and make sure I take care of other artistes on the way. I feel like I’m in a better place and I really want to be on my own- work on my life, my career, and everything,” Bensoul said.
Sauti Sol break
Nviiri and Bensoul left Sol Generation after Sauti Sol took an indefinite break from working as a group.
The band members, Bien-Aime Baraza, Willis Chimano, Polycarp Otieno and Savara Mudigi on May 20, 2023, announced that they will go on a break from group projects after their final tour.
Sauti Sol held a final performance at their Third Edition of the Sol Fest in Nairobi on December 16, 2023, before each member went their separate ways.
