KeNHA temporarily closes Kenyatta Avenue at Uhuru Highway roundabout

The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has announced a temporary closure of Kenyatta Avenue at the Uhuru Highway roundabout.

In a statement on Saturday, February 24, 2024, KeNHA announced that the closure is to allow for highway maintenance works at the section.

“The Kenya National Highways Authority wishes to notify the public that there will be temporary closure of Kenyatta Avenue at Uhuru Highway Roundabout. This is to allow for highway maintenance works at the section,” KeNHA stated.

The section will be closed from Friday, February 23, 2024, at 11.00 pm to Sunday, February 25, 2024, at midnight.

KeNHA directed all motorists accessing Uhuru Highway from Kenyatta Avenue to use alternative routes such as University Way, Utalii Street, Market Street, Posta Road, City Hall Way, Harambee Avenue and Haile Selassie Avenue.

“Motorists using this road are advised as follows; Approach the affected section with caution, follow the traffic signs and guidance in place as shall be offered by police and traffic marshalls on site,” the authority added.

KeNHA closes part of Lang’ata Road

On Thursday, the authority announced a temporary closure of a section of Lang’ata Road scheduled for Saturday, February 24, 2024, and Sunday, February 25, 2024.

In a notice, KeNHA said the road will be closed between the T-Mall roundabout and the Madaraka Roundabout from 6:00 am to 8:00 pm.

The Authority said that the temporary closure will occur due to planned road maintenance works along the section.

“The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) wishes to notify the public that a section of Lang’ata Road, along the service lane (Nyayo Stadium bound lane) between T-Mall Roundabout and Madaraka Roundabout will be closed,” part of the notice read.

Motorists have been advised to use alternative routes and cooperate with the police and traffic marshals on site.
