5 counties to be affected by blackout on Monday – Kenya Power

Kenya Power has announced interruptions of electricity supply that are set to affect five counties on Monday, February 19, 2024.

According to Kenya Power, the interruptions will be necessitated by the usual maintenance of their facilities.

“The listed areas will be affected by planned power interruptions tomorrow (February 19, 2024). The interruption is part of network maintenance,” the company said in a statement on X.

In Nyeri County, areas that will be affected include Gikororo, Kahuru Mkt, Ndima T/Factory, Kiaruhiu, Gathaithi, Mathia, Canteen, Gitangaruri, Ndima Kanini, Kahuro TBC, Ndiriti, Kiang’ombe, Gathambi, Muragara, Kanyai TBC, Kiambagathi, Mihuru TBC, Mununga, and adjacent customers. 

These areas are expected to be without power from 9:00 am. to 5:00 pm.

Areas that will do without power supply in Kiambu County include Ngethu Water Works Upper Camp, Gathugu, Kagonye, Kiriko Mission, Kariminu Dam, Kanyoni, Ndiko, Gakoe, Thuraku, Mwimuto, Gachege, Njahi, Karatu, Karinga, Gitwe, Wanugu, Ndarugu, Gacharage Water, Kirangi, and adjacent customers. 

According to the statement, South Nyanza counties of Nyamira and Kisii will also be affected.

Manga DC, Ritongo Booster, Juvenile, Manga Sengera, Nyaisa, and adjacent customers will not have power from 9:00 am. to 4:00 pm.

Kisii Town and the adjacent areas will experience a blackout from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

KCC Lessos, Emdin, Terige, Kapnyeberai, Kilibwoni Center, and adjacent customers in Nandi County will be without power from 10:00 am. to 3:00 pm.
