Embakasi East Member of Parliament (MP) Babu Owino has been nominated to join the governing board of Weldios University, Benin.
Sharing the invite on his social media pages, Babu accepted the invitation expressing his appreciation and readiness to contribute to the university’s cause.
“I take this opportunity to accept the invitation to join the governing board of Weldios University, Republic of Benin. It is my generation’s honour that this university cares about the future and not only nurtures it but also wants to give a chance to some of us to share our views on how that nurturing should be done,” the elite MP stated.
In the invitation extended by the university’s Chancellor Dr Chris Oyakhilome, the university recognisekd Babu Owino’s contributions and commitment to societal welfare and progress.
“The Chancellor Weldios University Rev. Dr. Chris Oyakhilome Dsc. Dsc. D.D. and the Governing Board of Weldios University upon this official letter has after due diligence nominated you to be a member of our Governing Board of the prestigious Institution,” the university’s invite stated.
Adding;
“This honorary recommendation and call to serve is a sequel to your excellence, panache and dexterity of contribution to the wellbeing of the institution over time coupled with your strength of character and integrity and track record of well-meaning contribution to the society and Africa at large. We await further correspondence of your acknowledgement and subsequent acceptance.”
Babu receives PHD in political leadership
In November 2023, the MP attained another prestigious milestone by being awarded an Honorary Doctorate Degree (PhD Honoraris Causa) in Political Leadership, adding to his list of achievements.
He shared the exciting news on his official social media – he’s been granted an honorary degree from Weldios University in Benin.
In his speech, he thanked his deity for the recognition and expressed gratitude for the honour.
He shared his joy, giving thanks to God for the Honorary Doctorate in Political Leadership from Weldios University.
The university nominated Babu for this honour after carefully assessing his contributions to society.
They sent him a formal letter inviting him to their convocation ceremony in Benin.
