Kenya Power announces scheduled blackout in 2 counties

Kenya Power has announced scheduled electricity interruptions set to affect some parts of Nairobi and Kisii counties on Wednesday, January 10, 2024.

In a statement released on Tuesday, January 9, the utility company said the temporary power outage is essential network maintenance.

“Good Evening. The listed areas will be affected by planned power interruptions tomorrow (10th January 2024). The interruption is part of network maintenance,” Kenya Power announced.

Electricity interruption in Nairobi County will affect Mathare Area 4 and its adjacent customers. The outage is scheduled to commence at 9:00 a.m. and will persist until 5:00 p.m.

In Kisii County, the affected areas include Nyamache, Emenwa, Nyamache Trading Center, Nyamache Market, Emenwa, Ispre, Nyamagwa, Kebuko, Gionseri, Kionduso, Boitangare, Borangi, and adjacent customers. The power interruption is scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m. and conclude at 5:00 p.m.
