A Kenya Commercial Bank–Nanyuki Branch manager was on Saturday night (November 16) found dead in his house. It is suspected he suffered a fatal heart attack.
George Kiarie failed to report to work on Saturday morning, and subsequent calls to him by his workmates went unanswered.
Laikipia County Commander, Maxwell Nyaema, said Kiarie’s colleagues reported at Nanyuki Police Station that their manager was missing.
As a result, law enforcement officers from the station visited Kiarie’s home at Immanuel Flats in Nanyuki Town, where, upon gaining entry into the house at 10:15pm, they found him seated lifeless on the toilet bowl. The manager lived alone in the house.
It is said Kiarie, who had served as the trust company’s branch manager for nearly five years, was aged 50.
His colleagues describe him as an “outgoing and down-to-earth person, who interacted freely with everyone across the social classes”.
Kiarie’s body was taken to Nanyuki Teaching and Referral Hospital morgue.
K24 Digital understands that Kiarie’s family, who live in Nairobi, arrived in Nanyuki on Sunday to facilitate transfer of the body to the commercial capital.
