Health Cabinet Secretary (CS) Susan Nakhumicha has penned a message of appreciation to President William Ruto for conferring her the Elder of the Order of the Golden Heart (EGH) award.
In her message to the president, the CS expressed gratitude and acknowledged that she was honoured and humbled to receive the award.
She also noted that she was dedicating the award to the 100,000 community health promoters who anchor the Universal Health Coverage agenda at the grassroots.
“My sincere appreciation to H.E President William Ruto for conferring upon me the Elder of the Order of the Golden Heart (EGH). I am honoured and humbled.
“I dedicate this award to my colleagues in the Health sector, who work selflessly and with dedication in their service to Kenyans. Further, I dedicate this award to the 100,000 Community Health Promoters who anchor the Universal Health Coverage agenda at the grassroots,” she stated.

The EGH award which is the highest presidential award given to civilians was dominated by Cabinet Secretaries and other high profile politicians.
